Do you remember dressing up to go dance at Goose Loonies or Barry T's? This week we're throwing back to the glitz and glamour of #YEG nightclubs in 1987.
    Vid clip included.

    Where exactly was FX located?
“You have to dream big. If we want to be a little city, we dream small. If we want to be a big city, we dream big, and this is a big idea.” - Mayor Stephen Mandel, 02/22/2012

Throwing a dart, but it kinda looks like the old building that stood where Century Casino is on Manning and Fort. Wasn't the same building an incarnation of the "Greenhouse" at one point as well?

After viewing the video I think they should have called the nightclub "wedding crashers"! lol
I was in grade 7 back then.
    Edmonton first, everything else second.

Hm. I don't think that FX place lasted long, did it? Certainly not in the canon with Goose Loony's or Denny Andrews.

Then again, I never paid much attention to any of those places. That one club with the soundproof rooms would have been my cup of tea.

Club John's was located on Fort Road where battle & gibson is now located.

Avoided all these clubs/discos/urban cowboy joints/meat markets like the Plague.

The Sidetrack Cafe had quality live entertainment as did several other bars in the 1980's

Me too. My basic rule is that if I can't hear myself think in a place, I avoid it.
