Default Passenger Cars on a CP line?

I was heading up Gateway Boulevard today and I saw a CP locomotive hauling two CP branded passenger rail cars. They looked a little older, so maybe they were just moving them somewhere, but it was a strange site.

Could be a CP executive train. Sometimes they have a passenger train with top management tour the network. Either that, or the cars were being moved, maybe to the Edmonton Railway Museum?

^ highly doubt it. I've only seen work trains with workers quarters in northern Ontario. They'll just use hotels for accommodation.

I saw these. A couple of old-school stainless steel streamliners.

Saw the cars too. One of them has been fitted with a large window on the end, with camera(s) or scanning device(s) of some sort mounted inside the window. Assume they are using these cars for rail line inspection.

^ oh yes, that sounds like a geometry train. Used for detecting hairline cracks and other flaws in rails before human eyes can.
