Marketing and Sales Assistant needed for Underwear Affair

Organization: The Underwear Affair benefitting the Alberta Cancer Foundation
Suitability: Sales Managers, Account Executives, Students of Marketing, Public Relations, Tourism, Event and Business Administration Programs.
Volunteer Location:
Calgary The majority of your time (up to 3 hours per week for 4 weeks) will be spent at Alberta Cancer Foundation Events Office located at 605 1 St SW.
Edmonton Remotely working from home. High Speed internet and phone required.
Length of term: Immediately to February 1, 2012
Position Description: Assist the Vendor Coordinator to recruit for exhibitors for Underwear Affair 2012. Position requires researching, proposal writing and negotiation tactics. Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Vendor Coordinator to maximize the experience of the Underwear Affair in 2012.
Required Skills: Excellent communication skills, experience with sales and marketing preferred but not required, previous experience working with non-profits is desired but not necessary.

The Underwear Affair is a high profile fundraising effort to raise awareness and fight against cancers below the waist. Proceeds from the Alberta Cancer Foundations Underwear Affair support the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and 15 other cancer centres throughout the province.
Our mission: To deliver progress in cancer research, prevention, treatment and care by generating community investment for Alberta's coordinated research strategy, the Cross Cancer Institute, Tom Baker Cancer Centre and 15 other cancer centres throughout the province.
