View Full Version : Some questions about visiting Edmonton in December

I'm going to be visiting Edmonton with my girlfriend this December to visit a family friend. Unfortunately, there's a possibility that we can't get picked up at the airport, so I was wondering about public transportation into the city.

The airport's website wasn't really clear on what options there are beyond taking a taxi (which isn't really in our budget). Google Maps' transit directions pulled up a crazy two-hour walk-a-thon, which isn't realistic for us in December.

How does one get to the city from the airport?

Thanks in advance.

There are airport shuttles to various locations in Edmonton for a decent price:

There was supposed to be an ETS (Edmonton Transit Service) bus running during business hours Monday to Friday between the International Airport and Century Park, however, Greyhound has lodged a complaint objecting to the bus stopping in Leduc. As a result, there is no ETS bus service pending the outcome of the hearing.

Otherwise there is taxi cab. Unfortunately we don't have many options at the present time.

Leduc is working on a transit line called the C Line it was set to go on Aug 31 but Greyhound has put a temporary stop to that. It might be up and running by Dec. It will get you public transport into Century park which there you can hop on to the LRT.
