HI everyone,

I intend to take my 2 kids to Fort Edm Park ( 1yr old and 4 yrs old kids). I wonder that is there any restaurant/washroom at this park, or I should pack lunch boxes for the kids? Is there any place that the kids can take a rest at noon? If you know somethings, please let me know. Thank you very much

Regards

NewMom yes there is a restaurant, tons of washrooms, a picnic site, I'm not sure about a quiet area.

You can check their site for more details;

Just something to follow what I noticed upon moving to Edmonton.

The place is probably bigger than you think it is and you should really allow yourself the day for the outing.

In keeping the park authentic , there is very little area of it air conditioned , ( the photo parlour and I would suspect the hotel are AC) if the planned outing is a scorcher of a day , I would suggest hitting a water park and leaving Fort Edmonton for another time.

Fort Edmonton Is really a Jewel in this city and a lot can be learned from it , The city has come a long way and It id demonstrated really well in this under promoted facility. Let your kids enjoy all the "Hands On" stuff , some real fun to be had .

Thank you very much for your information. If you have any idea about other place around Edmonton area that I should take my kids to this summer, please let me know. I only went to Sylvan Lake and Rundle Park before.

Thank you again.

If you're looking for summer activities to do with your kids, including going to Fort Edmonton Park - I recommend checking out www.findyourfun.ca before you go. You can purchase a "Find Your Fun Trial Pass” that gets you one-time access to:

Fort Edmonton Park
Edmonton Valley Zoo
Muttart Conservatory
Any recreation facility (see below)
Any outdoor pool (see below)
Nine holes of golf at Rundle Golf Course
Victoria Golf Course driving range

Also, for some free fun - check out the Legislature water fountains. Great for families and a place to have a picnic.

Also, the street performer's festival is on right now in Sir Winston Churchill Square. Not only will your kids enjoy the daytime performers (more kid-oriented), but the water feature at City Hall is awesome too!

I've no idea why, but kidz seem to love trains. Take them on an LRT ride and experience the High Level Bridge trolly.
