i got here in a link from ssp. i have to say i was very excited when i first found this site and spent countless hours(not all at once) reading the backlog of topics and threads. i never knew all the type of things that were happening in E town.

Google search of "Vision for the corner". :-)

I'd expect quite a few people get here that way, by doing a google of something they are interested, be it the Alberta Gallery, or whatever, this page comes up quite often in searches.

i was living in Lethbridge and Googled Edmonton (was looking to move back) and this place popped up, i checked it out, like what i saw and was a lurker for the most part...forgot for several months about this site (death in the family) then rediscovered it.

It is pretty surprising how high up the list C2E results are when searching Google for anything Edmonton related.

As for me, I too learned about C2E from SSP, and that site I had found when trying to find a list of construction projects happening downtown.

I remember being extremely frustrated with something... I think it had to do with the amount of garbage being found everywhere in the city. So I did a quick search and this is what came up. I setup an account and left a long winded rant about how disgusting everything looks with all the garbage flying about. That's how I came to C2E.

Googled for a couple projects I was interested in (Edmontonian was one, until I found out the developer), and it lead me to threads here.

Thanks for your replies. Interesting that the forum has come to many people through the newspaper, TV and Google. Surprised that the forum has got so much media profiling, which is good but rare for messageboards to get that sort of coverage.

It is rare, but it also comes from a concerted effort people behind the scenes have done with publishing monthly press releases, and the fact that the media does get story tips from here...

Susan,

You may want to check out the C2E archives for some of the press releases, interviews and some background information. http://www.connect2edmonton.ca/page.asp?page=777 and this thread:

For some reason or other, I was thinking about this cheesy jewelery shop called Beau Jangles that was located in Edmonton Centre in the 70s, so I did a google and found that it was mentioned in the Gone But Not Forgotten thread.

I saw a press release in the Edmonton Journal around February 2006. I followed it for about a year, and joined in March 2007. This is one forum where I get to express opinions, while learning other points of view.
