Watching Kenney in the hours after his swearing-in Tuesday was to watch a political animal unleashed on his dream job. A true blue cabinet was sworn in, a tanker ban attacked, a carbon tax repeal bill announced and a dash to Ottawa booked. Most controversially of all, a legislative tap-turn-down revenge on pipeline opponent B.C. was proclaimed.

Top_Dawg would like to be Kenney for just one month.

And turn off the taps to B.C.

Just to watch the useless good for f*ck all sonz-of-bitches squeal like piggies.

    And Top_Dawg wouldn't relent.

No matter how hard they wailed.

Make their gas 4 buck a litre.

    And ground all their flights.

If that were to happen, could the federal government step in and declare some sort of emergency and turns the taps back on ( either by a direct order from Ottawa or Canadian Armed Forces) ?
I do not think anybody would win that fight, what about if the AB Gov slowed down the flow of oil for a few days, let's say for pipeline checks.

I beleive most of their gasoline and diesel comes up from washington refineries. They get their oil from alaska (by tanker!) and a bit from TMP.
The biggest impact would be restricting aviation fuel from TMP, which I believe supplies the majority of YVR's needs. Westjet would be hurt.

Gas prices would increase just due to uncertainty at the wholesale level, but not to $4.

The bigger concern with turning off the taps is that it would put Canada at risk of a challenge/complaint under NAFTA, since a lot of oil crosses the border. Not allowed to restrict free trade across the border. But you could certainly restrict products that terminate in Vancouver area.

B.C. wins injunction blocking Alberta's turn-off-the-taps legislation over oil

"I find that the irreparable harm that British Columbia would suffer if the injunction is not granted far outweighs any inconvenience that the injunction might impose on Alberta," read the decision from Grammond.

            ...
“B.C. Premier John Horgan said he was pleased the court found the bill unconstitutional.

"I'm grateful now that we don't have that threat, which was a significant threat to our economy and to our people," he said. "It's no longer in play."

            Horgan said....”

Not everyone in BC is against the twinning of the pipeline or the marine shipment of bitumen . . .
There are many BC folks that are just as frustrated as you that the Horgan NDP govt. and the sock-puppet Liberal PM have stalled the whole western economy.

I hope Kenney's "War room," is looking into this. There has to be outside money involved.
