  • Silver Skate Festival VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

    Do you love winter sports and activities? Want to spend time in Hawrelak Park during an exciting winter festival? Volunteer at Edmonton's longest running winter festival. The Silver Skate Festival is looking for volunteers to help with the festival which runs from February 10 – 20, 2017. The Festivals is a 10-day, family-oriented festival that is held in Edmonton's scenic river valley. Rooted in Dutch winter traditions, the festival combines sport (especially skating), arts and culture, and recreation.

    Volunteers needed to greet the welcome/info tent, supervise recreation activities, monitor fires, and direct races.

    Our volunteers are key to our success. We provide a place to warm up, a hot meal, snacks and refreshments, a gift bag of goodies from Silver Skate Festival and its sponsors. We also enter your name to win draw prizes.

          How is the slush castle doing? It looked half done even last week before this hottest spell. I wonder if they even try reattempting this one again.

          We enjoyed the Silver Skate festival but it really looks like last weekend, when we went, was the right time to go. Probably just water and slush all over there now.
