DECL Spring Cleanup - THIS SAT

The spring clean-up is scheduled for this Saturday, May 3, 10am to 12 pm.

We're meeting at the DECL space, 10042-103st, at 10am and will go from there.

Please wear good footwear, bring gardening gloves if you have them and if you have a picker-upper that would help. Gloves and limited equipment will also be available.

People are welcome to clean any areas they wish, but we often focus on the hillside into downtown, 101-103-105st to Jasper and the warehouse district.

The 104st cleanup will be next Sunday.

How about concentrating clean up efforts in the Boyle, McCauley area? The alleyways and areas around 95th, 96th, 97th streets, etc.. look like a wasteland, the rathole area off of 97th street is particularly littered with waste of all kinds..

        Boyle/McCauley CL should be contacted.

We have enough to do Downtown Downtown.

I have no idea who to contact, besides the city should be initiating this cleanup effort in that area..

McCauley CL usually has a 'big bin' event where they collect and dispose of furniture etc in the spring. I would contact them directly.

A special thanks to DECL for their clean-up efforts. I'm aware many communities this time of year are organizing these events but as a regular user of downtown amenities I feel a special thanks is in order.
May I suggest some extra attention is paid to Beaver Hills and Beatrice Carmichael parks? As of today both are in poor shape.

Extra attention should be paid to Mary Burlie Park as well... not to mention the entire area surrounding 97th street and the alleyways..

                        ^^Thanks! We appreciate it.

McKay Avenue park is doing very well thanks to a few and the City, so it looks like we can concentrate more effort in other areas.

                        Cheers
