  • 2019 Edmonton Prospects season

Sure the regular season is still 3 months away but a cloud of uncertainty looms over the Club as the City has opted out of the 2020 season and seem determined to investigate all avenues before seriously looking at Patrick Cassidy's 25 year lease offer. At least that's what I surmise from Roger Jevne's response to my email:

"We are currently finalizing our timelines for this process. We anticipate an information report going to the Community and Public Services Committee of Edmonton City Council in the spring with a Request for Submissions coming from our Real Estate Branch to follow."

The CoE won't finish Blatchford for 25 years. WTF is is its problem with Re-Max.

Usual disgusting, degrading response to private business by the CoE.
    ... gobsmacked

The city officially officially made 2019 the last official season of the Edmonton Prospects. It's not to say they wont renegotiate a new deal with the Club but the floor is open to all offered now.

Just brutal. What a joke. Just tear it down now and dispense with the charade.

A centrally located, walkable, bike-able, open-to-the-public amenity gets the shaft. Meanwhile, the exclusive, private golf club open to only the elite of Edmonton will get the behind-closed-door rubber stamp for their lease request. Oh, but you'll be able to use their washrooms in the winter. Crumbs from the master's table.

I'll say it again - there is something rotten with the political/managerial class in this city.

        Touch the water, my ***.

It's going to be a great summer at the ball park.

Season opening win last night for the Prospects. Drift Food has a concession again, Sumo Sumo is available along with a craft beer selection. Prospects vs Bulls today at 2pm.

Ducey Park is the best patio in Edmonton, hands down. For those of you "excited" about the pretty pictures of what Rossdale could be in some idealized but unlikely future - the ballpark is there now, today, open to anyone with a ticket. You could coast there on your bike from the DECL or Old Strathcona (or any of the top of bank neighbourhoods). What a beautiful day for a walk to the ballpark. Geez, you could even take a picture on yourself riding the funicular (if it's working today). Go To Something Edmonton.

Thanks for supporting Remax Field and thanks for supporting the Prospects. Thank you for not supporting city halls desire to demolish the ball park.
Just enjoying another day in paradise.

Pride Night at the Ballpark this Friday 15th 7:05. 2pm game 16th for Father's Day.

Good to read John Short doing all the game write-ups for the Prospects now.

"Low level" ball in this city has consistently produced MLB draft picks. I mean, really, who couldn't play in the WMBL.

Edmonton Prospects to stay at RE/MAX Field next season: head coach

“You have to dream big. If we want to be a little city, we dream small. If we want to be a big city, we dream big, and this is a big idea.” - Mayor Stephen Mandel, 02/22/2012
