    Trades people who have since passed spoke to me about vocational training programs that operated in the city prior to the establishment of NAIT in 1962. The programs operated out of a building complex that still stands today - people here would know it as the site of Original Joe's / Body by Bennett in west downtown on the north side of 102 Ave at 12520, just east of the bridge over Groat Rd. Prior to being converted into a restaurant / gym, the building was widely known in the 70's-80's as the site of Abominable Ski & Sport.

    I heard about sheet metal and machining courses that were taught here. Perhaps other fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical & so on were part of the curriculum, too?

    What was the name of the program, what was its scope and whose auspices was it operated under (Private, Muni, Prov, Fed?)
