  • Canada's First Fresh-Casual Restaurant Opens to the Public

"EDMONTON, Aug. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Plow & Harvest, Canada's first fresh-casual restaurant, opens to the general public today in Edmonton. Already getting a warm reception from Edmontonians, Plow & Harvest has modified the fast-casual premise to create a new category of affordable dining that is fresher, healthier, and uses the finest ingredients from local suppliers.

The new fresh-casual concept provides diners with an unpretentious setting in which to enjoy chef-crafted, fresh food from an open kitchen in a licensed establishment. "The concept is new to Canada and fills a need diners have expressed for healthy, affordable options that support local food suppliers," says Tom Kelley, President of AccessPoint Group, the consultants who created the fresh-casual concept and worked with the owners to develop Plow & Harvest."

"The flagship location is at 10041 170 Street, seats 210 people and is open daily from 11 AM."

Know 2 people who have gone and thought it was just ok, perhaps just needing some time to shake things down?

          Thanks nobleea

Those are some of the funniest reviews Top_Dawg has ever read.

          Priceless.

The food was amazing. The tractor when you first come in was a bit much. Once they get the order system at the table set up properly, it should make people who hate ordering things at the till (like at famoso) less annoyed.

Annnnnnd they're closed. That has to be a record for a restaurant in the city.
They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

Them reviews on Urban Spoon are something else. Has any restaurant in this city ever been spanked like that before?

Some friends went & did their farm to table thing this summer... They said that while the idea ws interesting, it wasn't very well executed. They noted the irony of all the yuppies driving out to the middle of nowhere in their SUV's for the experience
Over promise and under deliver. It’s the most Edmonton thing you can do.

I think you're confusing it with RGE RD. This restaurant was on 170 st.

Wow I drove past it this evening and all the signs were on but not a car in sight and I thought it was just closed on Tuesdays. That is ridiculous it is closed already... too bad.
