  • Local Blogger receives backlash over his review of a restaurant's offering

    Hopefully "some of their lessons learned" include how not to shove your foot in your mouth on social media & come off looking like a Grade A prick.

    Wait, half the expertise is coming from Joe the short order cook at Commons, the very establishment that is hosting the nothing event?

    You missed a couple topics;

    6:40 How to spice up a menu with an added 6 foodie adjectives applied to each offering. Increase price minimum 1 dollar per well chosen foodie additive. Make normal soup cost 12bucks because the menu says it contains 7 buzz adjective ingredients.

    8: 15How to foreclose, how to not loose the short off your back. How to lose other peoples money..

    Crazy idea here, but it would seem to be that the kindest, best advice "staff and industry experts" could give is Don't do it, you'll be sorry"

    Job of your dreams lol. If your dream is 7 days a week 12 or more hour shifts and high blood pressure just to delay the inevitable in an oversaturated resto retail market.

    Perhaps a better idea would be find some other endeavor.

      Yes, the best advice would be "Do Not Open a Restaurant." Once the permitting people are done just open the doors and let the people who might have a few dollars run.

        7 days a week and 12-20 hr days sounds more like owning most small businesses. Best advise, go work for someone else, then if you still feel you need to open your own restaurant, make sure your quality is good. and make sure you have a full savings account for the time your first try fails.

          Hadn't come across that before.

          “Stick to sick kids,” posted Katy Ingraham, owner of Cartago, a restaurant in south Edmonton. Nguyen doesn’t work directly with patients at the Stollery Children’s Hospital; he told StarMetro during an interview that he’s a clinical genetics technologist there.
          Pretty despicable behavior.

            Wasn't there even a thread here where certain people actually tried to stick up for them?

                    Katy was being catty again? Didn't take long. I wonder if she attracts more narcissists to her establishment that way. If I was living a block away I would not walk into her establishment.
