Oh wow!  Lost the Santa Claus Parade.  Lost Interstellar Rodeo. Lost the Tour of Alberta bike race.  Lost Red Bull Crushed Ice.  What is next to be lost?  K-Days?

I know of many on the brink.  It is often the lack of support, or a plethora of broken promises combined with outlandish expectations...

Face it folks... Edmonton is a beer city with champagne pretensions born out a fluke proximity to dead dinosaur goo, which currently isn't worth as much as it used to be, and may not ever be again.

Now we're seeing what that means up close.
I am in no way entitled to your opinion...

You could add Up+Downtown to that list. But there's always green shoots - just finished up Endless Bummer, a little multi venue festival and Winterruption is coming in January, Silver Skate is only growing along with Deep Freeze and Flying Canoe.

Not sure why this is being made out to about Edmonton in your post. Both the Winnipeg and Edmonton festivals are cancelled, the only two places the event was held. Winnipeg also had a better location venue easily accessed.

The Hawrelak park amphitheater had limited capacity as a venue. Not sure why they never went somewhere else. Would be hard to cover all costs with such limited capacity and ticket sales here.
