The same type that broke my neighbours and mine in Avonmore, our frost proof garden taps off in -30C weather using a big wrench.

Maybe put up a remote camera

what kind of low-life would turn the gas off at someone else's building for the second time now?

we removed the crank from the valve last time and now keep it in the mechanical room - this time they had to have brought their own wrench.

i think the pandemic is stifling everyone's search for tenants but having said that it's not the first thing on anyone's mind. none of us knows what the new reality is going to look like or when we'll get closer to achieving it.

when we do get there, one of the things we will have is floor plates that allow a tenant as small as 5,800 sf to be a full floor tenant with no shared common areas (other than the building lobby and elevator); no shared washrooms; an ability to provide secure access to individual floors; and a mechanical system that provides 100% fresh outside air to each floor with no recirculation or mixing air with/from other floors (the wonders of heat recovery units for exhaust air, tempered fresh air and heat pumps instead of vav boxes).

in the meantime, priority one for all of us is to stay safe and stay kind.

there didn't seem to be much interest in a formal tour but primavera is now working out of temporary space on the 6th floor so we're happy to walk through with anyone who is interested. the lobby isn't open so drop in anytime won't work but as long as we're in the building if you drop by or if you want to set up a time to drop by you can simply call.

they’re not metal, they’re white pine cnc routered from full size panels and set in a frame and mounted proud of the exposed concrete core wall for the stair which is visible through them. the ceiling panels are similarly done below acrylic panels with led lighting above. they were manufactured and installed by edmonton’s selenium interiors custom millwork.

Just inside the newly constructed lobby of the Brighton Block, right beside the main doors, there is a concrete wall curiously dotted with engravings of pigeon silhouettes. “When we got this building, the wall that was here was so covered with pigeon poop that it had become structurally unsound,” says Adam Cantor, development manager for Primavera Development...
