    • It's interesting to see these amendments. Now I just want to see construction begin.

      • 1/3 of the urban garden removed, making the podium less attractive to the eventual residents but more appealing to the commercial tenants.

Giving less of a damn than ever… Can't laugh at the ignorant if you ignore them!

What is unattractive is a half abandoned construction site, sitting there in a state of limbo. I wish they would make up their minds or figure out what they are going to build and just get on with it. In the current state it is detracting from the the rest of the nearby development, which is otherwise good.

          • That's a lot of bar patrons so close to the very sensitive & sleepy Urban Warehouse Campus Park Partridge In A Pear Tree District. 1,276 licenced seats.

            • Was hoping Rogers would have hosted the All-star or Draft by next year...doubt it's happening with the state of perpetual construction.
Just build it ugly or not and give me back the sidewalk along the south side of 104th. It's been closed for what 5 years now?

              • Construction on the Loblaws grocery store in the first phase of the Ice District development on other side of the JW Marriott Hotel where the old Greyhound terminal was should begin later this year, as well as the home of two new restaurants, The Canadian Icehouse and The Banquet, he said.

The district is also focused on getting people into the outdoor Ice Plaza with a Rogers Hometown Hockey event in the spring.

                • “The Baccarat is something we’ve never been proud of. It’s an embarrassment to our company and we want to get out of it as quickly as we can,” said Gateway Casinos and Entertainment chief executive Tony Santo in 2016.

Its now 2020, nearly four years later so that demolition is not so "quick".

Two areas with two different zones, uses and occupancies associated with Bars and Neighbourhood Pubs, Restaurants, etc.

"...we want to GET OUT of it as quickly as we can." No where did that statement refer at demolition.

                      • The haste to get out of the embarrasing building and the length of time to demolish it is quite a contrast. It also reminds us how long it sat as an empty abandoned building.

                        • Keep in mind it was used as staging for construction storage etc. The rush deadline for the arena may have had a lot to do with that. It was bulit during a time when Roger's and this were empty dirt lots which attracted quite insurmountable unpleasantness. I much prefer that with paved parking to unwanted gatherings with syringes and smashes of liquor bottles. It had its purpose...
