  • Sorry that has nothing to do with letting hillsides being unkept, abandoning a visitors centre and letting it rot away. All other cities use salt on their roads in the winter and yet they do not seem to be in the same state of disrepair.

Gravel and sand is a huge deal in the spring. The city does need to find cleaner, more efficient ways of keeping our roads clear.

I don't disagree but the issue is they then ignore how summer, fall and a good chunk of winter look.
I will beat the dead horse back to life.

            • Tent city is starting to grow again. Nice to see the clothesline coming up and some of them even have porches.

              Yikes.

Another mind numbingly boring DT event that will see flocks of 40 people attending..

Street closure, food, and music now considered enticing revitalizing DT entertainment.

"Yeah kids, learn to play in the streets". brought to you by the DT safer for children initiative.

Well, its Sunday in summer so downtown is fairly dead anyways and it's just 5 street crossings of Jasper Ave, most of them not major routes, so probably not that many drivers inconvenienced. Now the marathon, that shut down a long stretch and that was hard to get around.

This isn't new to Edmonton and should've happened years ago and has been happening in many other cities in Canada as Car Free Day's which proves great for local businesses and community. These are streets.. which are public spaces. This isn't radical.
