  • Nothing much to report other than the completion of the food court washrooms.

    • Wal Mart is apparently moving into the main level floor of the previous Sears. Medical offices are going on the second floor.

Any news on the vacant former Sears location?

              • Not really. Sears lower level is still a wide corridor to the north exits. Sears upper level has a Snapchat wall but that's all.

Mr. Pretzels is opening by the entrance near where Disney Store is located.

                • Some tea place has opened under the escalator where Starbucks was previously located.
Sunrise has relocated to the newer section where Target used to be.
Apple is opening a new store called Jump+ in the former Sunrise space.

It’s an Apple reseller called Jump Plus... it sells Apple products. It isn’t owner or operated by Apple Inc.

                    • A Fitset Ninja Warrior opened temporarily (until March 31st) in the 2nd floor of Sears. I am also curious about what happens with the space in its entirety. The basement of it I do recall being massive and having surprisingly high ceilings. Seems like it would have been a great spot for a gym.

Their website says they are also a licensed Apple Service Provider, and can repair/replace speakers, screens, batteries, cameras and more on Apple products, in addition to selling most Apple products.

This is a nice addition to the mall considering the closest Apple Service Provider if you live anywhere in the north and north-east areas of the city is London Drugs in Oliver Square.

                        • The new Sunrise location is pretty small- it has a very "thin sliver of a record shop" look to it now. Though it might actually be larger than their other shop, which was oddly laid out- being kind of crooked.

                          • What used to be open in the food court, left side of A&W? It's a blank wall now.

I don't know how they stay in business. Their business model is no different than HMV, and HMV died pretty quickly because there was no longer a demand for physical audio and video

                              • HMV has a ton of debt. Sunrise apparently does not. Physical media is still decently popular, and will continue to be as long as the streaming services routinely play games with each other and lost content frequently.
