  • I spoke to one of the construction guys working at the Orange Market space. He was quite funny when I asked what was coming in...

“I’m sure you’ll be excited to hear that it’s a much needed store for this area” eye roll... “a vape shop.” I laughed and told him I was really hoping it was something the area didn’t have many of, like a donair shop.
They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

    • Well maybe we will be lucky and instead of a Vape Shop or a Donair shop, we might get a Subway, or even better yet a payday loan shop. Oh I just thought, what about a liquor store, we don't have many of those do we?
LRT is our future, time to push forward.

      • Looks like Blakbar is open after all. My bad. But what's with that For Lease sign?

There are no Canadian locations left.
I am not surprised they didn't survive. They had no marketing. When I first saw their sign, I thought Rush Bowls was a sister store for the Jupiter bong shop next door.

I had to google what is Rush Bowls. It's a franchise based in Colorado that sells smoothy bowls. Didn't know there was a market for cereal bowls.

I’m pretty sure that’s a Beljan building that they’re adding onto the back of, so maybe the lease sign is related to that.

                • The area needs another tattoo shop. Not enough of them around when you have a sudden urge for ink...

                  • Comex Hobby is opening up off Whyte, just across from Save-On (78 ave). Not sure when they're opening... I just saw the sign the other day.

                    • That might be the old Kingsway location- they told me they were opening up a standalone store as they were leaving the mall. Kind of funny how they'd move to an even easier place for me to get .

                          • heh. This is what, their 27th attempt at a launch? This place has been a gong show for close to a year now. Apparently the space is amazing, but when they've held events/concerts etc the food/service has been all over the map, and they often can't even manage to provide their own beer. Which is hilarious for a place with "brewing" in their name.

Hopefully they get things worked out.

                            • agree with that Marcel. I, too have been hearing of this 'opening' for ages..... This has been odd considering at least a dozen local breweries have opened in the two years this was announced.
He who posteth too much, should moveth out of his parents basement and get a life.
