  • Condor | Frankfurt | starts June 2020

Frankfurt, 3 December 2019 - Condor is topping up its 2020 summer flight schedule: Germany's most popular leisure airline will be flying non-stop from Frankfurt to Edmonton in Canada for the first time as of June 2020. Flights to the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta can be booked from 349.99 euros per person one-way and are offered every Monday and Thursday.
    New destination from Frankfurt: Edmonton
With the inclusion of the Canadian megacity of Edmonton in the 2020 summer flight schedule, Condor's Canada services will be expanded to a total of six destinations: In addition to Edmonton, Germany's most popular leisure airline will also be flying to Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver and Whitehorse from Frankfurt and Halifax from Frankfurt and Munich.
Edmonton is one of the northernmost cities in the world and is considered the gateway to the Rocky Mountains due to its geographical location. Situated along both banks of the North Saskatchewan River, Edmonton's summers are long, pleasant and with average temperatures of 20 degrees, only partly cloudy. The capital of the Canadian province of Alberta, Edmonton, offers many musical festivals and a variety of cultural activities for young and old, including more than 60 museums and galleries. In addition, numerous skyscrapers shape the image of the city, including the 130-metre-high Bell Tower in the centre of the metropolis.

I must admit I smiled at the "megacity" comment.  However, the FRA wait is over.  This was a long time coming, and hopefully the demand will prove interesting enough for others to take notice.

Now to work on the reasons for Germans to come here...a rant for another time.

Given the market...I'd say it is pretty much a great start...

The Draisatl effect started a couple of years ago with German tour groups coming to see him play here. It continues in 2020

It is not about Condor, they are just the airline. It is not about Frankfurt, that is just the destination in Germany. It is really about the connections to the globe!

Frankfurt Airport (FRAPORT) boast 98 Airlines and 306 destinations. It is about being connected to the globe. This means more travel options, more tourists connecting to here, and more air cargo. Yes, fill those planes with exports of what is made in Edmonton and Alberta.
