  • Old Pictures of Edmonton -- Where to find??

I read through this thread already: http://www.connect2edmonton.ca/showt...es-of-Edmonton

But I'd love to see more. My Google skills seem to be failing me. Love just overall seeing how the city has changed. Dad was telling me about how the Capilano bridge only opened in the early 70's, and I'm now dying to see how the area looked before that bridge was put in. Or heck, just seeing photos of Edmonton even just 20 years ago would be super cool. If anyone has any to share, or can point me in a direction I can look, that'd be great!

        YouTube is your best friend!

There are many vintage videos of Edmonton on YouTube. Like watching any YouTube video, there are suggestions of the related topic on the right side of the screen. You will then be sucked into the YouTube Twilight Zone Loop.

Oh my North Guy .... forget the scantily clad girls (cause that'd make me sexist), but that 72 K-Daze parade!!! - whatever happened to real floats where you can't see the F-350 pulling it? I mean real floats. Dang!
          ... gobsmacked

Try to find anyone on a float, in a band or even in the spectators who is anywhere near being fat. Not even the tuba players.

Maybe 1 in 50 people. Now it is more like 2 out of 3

                    I did not.

It is a well known issue that the obesity rates are rising rapidly in just a few generations. It is an important and often discussed issue of national health. I have been losing some weight over the past couple of years myself and aim to lose more. I am not obese but can stand to lose excess weight for better health.
