Top Tillerson aide fired after contradicting White House account of firing

The firing was reportedly prompted by a statement from Goldstein on Tuesday, responding to Tillerson's firing, in which Goldstein said Tillerson did not speak with Trump before his firing and is "unaware" of the reason behind his dismissal.

The statement strongly suggested that Tillerson found out about his firing from Twitter — though it differs from published accounts of the decision that cited unnamed White House sources.

Goldstein also said Tillerson had "every intention of staying" before his firing.

    • Carson claims he's shocked by the price of dining room set. Says neither he nor his wife had anything to do with it. Asks for God's guidance to do what's right.

Apparently God told him to lie about it.
Ben Carson claimed he was ‘shocked’ by $31,000 dining set, but emails show he knew all along

In a March 1 statement, Carson said that he was “shocked” by the dining set’s pricetag and “made it known that I was not happy about the prices being charged and that my preference would be to find something more reasonable.” HUD spokesman Raffi Williams denied that Ben or his wife Candy had any involvement in the purchase process at all, telling CNN at the time that “Mrs. Carson and the secretary had no awareness that the table was being purchased.”

But the newly released emails show that the Carsons in fact selected the furniture themselves.

The emails were first reported by CNN. According to CNN’s report, “an August email from a career administration staffer, with the subject line ‘Secretary’s dining room set needed,’ to Carson’s assistant refers to ‘printouts of the furniture the Secretary and Mrs. Carson picked out.'”

And how much was the total budget? $5,000. For the entire office before they had to get congressional approval. So they simply lied right from the start and hid it. While cutting housing programs for the poor because carson thought people "were getting too comfortable"

Helen Foster, then HUD’s chief administration officer, wrote in a complaint that shortly before President Trump’s inauguration, acting secretary Craig Clemmensen told her that Carson’s wife, Candy Carson, wanted her husband’s office upgraded. Foster told Clemmensen that the department could not spend more than $5,000 on decorating the office without congressional approval, Foster wrote in her complaint, The Washington Post reported.

Clemmensen responded to Foster that “$5000 will not even buy a decent chair,” according to her complaint. He instructed her to “find money,” Foster wrote.

      • Big loss for the Trump team last night in Pennsylvania. A 20 percent loss from 2016. Looks like a huge slide in 2018 and Trump may be faced with the House and the Senate may flip in November. If so, Trump's days are numbered and his 2020 campaign is a non-starter.

            • He attracts only the best people.

WATCH: Trump-loving moms mock Muslims inside a mosque to teach their children how to be ‘patriots’

Throughout the nearly 25-minute recording, which was taken off of Gonzales’ profile but re-uploaded by others, the women are heard berating Muslims.

The women, who describe themselves as “patriots” in the original video, encourage the children to take pamphlets on display at the Islamic center so that they can “expose” the people attend it. At one point the woman filming tells the children that Muslims “live off the welfare system, off our hard-earned, taxpayer-funded money.”

Officials at the mosque confirmed that they’d filed a police report against the women, and a Tempe police officer said the force was investigating the “active case.”

According to the Republic‘s Megan Cassidy, both women are part of a group that organized a “Make America Great Again” rally the previous weekend that featured Sheriff Joe Arpaio as a speaker.

              • I couldn't even figure out where to put this. Is it trade? Who knows? Misc. seemed as good as any.

BTW, Japan doesn't drop bowing balls on car hoods.

What The Hell Is Trump Talking About With Japan Dropping Bowling Balls On Cars?

Let’s get the full context of what’s going on here: Trump was discussing the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, and how he felt it was unfair to American interests. To illustrate his point, Trump told this anecdote about Japan’s allegedly overly-strict automobile inspection process:

“It’s the bowling ball test. They take a bowling ball from 20 feet up in the air and drop it on the hood of the car. If the hood dents, the car doesn’t qualify. It’s horrible.”

Maybe his 'mom' Melania can get a 50% discount on the get one and the second is half off special.

                      • The interesting thing is that once she's divorced, she can be compelled to testify against him. Interesting timing with the Trump Organization being subpoenaed. Interesting timing.

                        • Read the torture report.

Publisher offers Senate torture report for free in response to Haspel's CIA nomination

“What’s clear from the Torture Report is that Haspel helped develop, authorize, and oversee what became one of the worst and most inhumane programs in U.S. government history,” Clark wrote. “It tarnished the reputation of America and disgusted sensible people everywhere. It was evil and wrong. And it didn’t work.”

The American Civil Liberties Union said Haspel was “up to her eyeballs in torture, both in running a secret torture prison in Thailand and carrying out an order to cover up torture crimes by destroying videotapes.”

                            Yeah, as I said: Trump.

In the spirit of Trump (pick one) we shouldn’t quibble over details, facts, accuracy or ‘actualcy’.
