  • Ask Jim Low - Rules and Decorum

    Rules and Decorum:
    1. Only 1 post per username per day. You may ask multiple questions.
    2. Please keep your questions on topic, factual, and succinct.
    3. No personal attacks, violations of the Charter of Rights, unfounded accusations, or name calling of any kind will be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in your username and you question(s) being removed from the forum.
    4. All regular Connect2Edmonton rules apply. Click here to review.
The protocol for the Ask Jim forum is as follows:
    1. This Forum will be open from 00:01h Wednesday, April 21, 2010 to 15:30h Thursday, April 22nd 2010.
    2. There will be one thread opened per day to ask your questions in. No additional threads will be allowed. This is to keep track of the questions and also keep the forum tidy.
    3. There will be a new thread created daily for Mr low to provide answers in one central spot. This thread will be closed for comments once the answers are provided. Mr. Low will respond by 9 am the following morning. (I.E. Answers to Wednesdays questions will appear Thursday by 9 am).
    4. A final thread will be created for feedback on both the answers and on any improvements that C2E can make in future "Ask" forums.
    5. Understand that you IP address will be logged. This is standard practice on C2E for forum protection. C2E will not release this information to the general public without a court order.
    6. Rules of conversation an decorum will be strictly enforced as in previous Ask forums. This community continues to prove that it welcomes our guest speakers with their quality questions, and we know they will do the same with this hot topic - the submission of the Area Rezoning Plan for the downtown arena district.
Please review these items carefully. Posting in this forum automatically assumes you have read and understood these rules and are willing to abide by them. C2E's moderation reserves the right to unapprove submissions that do not meet the above criterion.

Scope of Questions - Are funding questions excluded?

Admin, would you please clarify whether or not the questions for this Q&A session can include those regarding the funding of the proposed arena district? (That will be a bigger hot topic than the rezoning will be, IMO.) I personally suspect that questions of a funding nature would not be in scope for this Q&A but it would be nice for C2E posters to have certainty with that so that they know what sorts of questions they can make over the next two days. Thanks!

That, as always, is up to the respondent. Feel free to ask questions regarding the topic at hand which you feel the participant could answer for you. Funding questions were asked at the recent press conference.

I have not been told that questions on funding are out of scope.
