Netanyahu vows to annex Jewish settlements in occupied West Bank

Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has pledged to annex Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories if he wins his country’s election on Tuesday, a dramatic last-minute rallying call to his nationalist base.

In interviews with domestic media ahead of the polls, Netanyahu repeated his promise and said he would prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state by “controlling the entire area”.

Hundreds of thousands of settlers live in outposts in the West Bank, which Israel’s military captured in a war more than half a century ago and continues to rule, controlling the lives of more than 2.5 million Palestinians.

World powers consider the settlements illegal under international law, built on land confiscated from Palestinian families and squeezing them into ever-smaller enclaves. Formally declaring the settlements part of Israel would also be seen as putting an end to fading hopes for a Palestinian state, as there would be little continuous land on which to create it.

It appears that Trump's "easy" solution to the Palestinians is to simply make them irrelevant as a people.

      • Extremist groups in Alberta detailed in first-of-its-kind report

Alberta is home to a disproportionate number of extremist movements — including far-right groups and people travelling abroad to join armed groups such as ISIS — according to a new report billed as the first of its kind.
The Organization for the Prevention of Violence (OPV), which produced the report,
received a $1.2 million grant from the federal government
last year as part of a plan to counter hate and violent extremism in Alberta, which has seen a
        rise in police-reported hate crimes
. The report is poised to be made public next month.
The article goes into detail about all the extremist groups in Alberta and how they came about, definitely worth reading in detail. I found this part particularly interesting:

The report’s category on left-wing extremism includes anarchists and Antifa groups. To date, the report found left-wing extremists have not been involved in any major violent incidents in Alberta, nor do researchers believe they present a “significant threat to public safety.”The researchers found “reciprocal radicalization” was at play in the relationship between right-wing and left-wing extremist groups. Violence by left-wing extremists is “mainly reactionary in confrontation with right-wing groups.”The OPV estimates there were 20 to 30 people involved in Antifa and anti-racist groups in Calgary, with only a small number who support violence during confrontations with the far right. The movements are believed to be growing, the report said.
Thought it was interesting just because of how much it's brought up on here that the far-left is just as bad as the far-right, yet research is starting to show that that is not the case, and the far-left extremism that does exist is mostly in response to other extremism.

                    • ^Say what?

No fan of Trudeau, but the PM's statement on the Sri Lanka bombings makes several references to terrorism:

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka:

“I was shocked and saddened to hear of the devastating terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, which have claimed the lives of more than two hundred people and injured many hundreds more. On behalf of the Government of Canada and all Canadians, I offer my heartfelt condolences to all those who have lost loved ones and my hope for a full recovery to those injured.

“Canada strongly condemns these heinous attacks on hotels and Christians at prayer in churches. Places of worship are sacred, where all should feel safe and secure. No one should be targeted because of their faith.

“For millions of people around the world, Easter is a time to reflect on Jesus’ message of compassion and kindness—a time to come together with friends and family. We cannot let attacks like these weaken the hope we share.

“To the people of Sri Lanka and other communities affected by today’s attacks: Canada stands with you. We will continue to work with you and other international partners to combat terrorism and violent extremism and to promote greater peace and stability around the world.

“To date, we have no reports of any Canadian citizens being affected. Due to the current situation, our High Commission in Colombo will be closed on April 22. However, Canadians in need of emergency consular assistance should contact [email protected] or call +1 613 996 8885.”

No? Then why do they call Christians "Easter worshippers"?

                              • Haha. Oh please. Nobody has ever called a Christian an Easter worshipper before. Christians don't worship "Easter". And don't pretend for a second that they do.

Obama and Hillary DELIBERATELY called these people that name instead of calling them Christians.

The question is why? It's not a normal thing to say.
