    • we live in a pretty good place when this is the sort of thing we can take offense at and get outraged about while we have two more american mayors yesterday standing up after mass shootings saying "this does not define us, our response will..." while talking about something that takes place hundreds of times a year.

maybe one of the requirements to get a gun license or to buy a gun should be having to take a nude bicycle ride at least 2 km long down the main street of town.

or maybe those mayors and their governors and their president should have to take a nude bicycle ride down the mall of america and back every time there is a mass shooting in their jurisdiction.

      • According to Wikipedia, El Paso and Dayton were number 251 and 252 for the year.

Different groups use different criteria but any way you look at it, it's appalling and so is the response from Americans and their government. Sure, there's the justifiable outrage but all too often they vote back in the same politicians that don't do anything to stop it.

        • Barcelona city council has ruled that women are allowed to swim topless in any of its municipal indoor or outdoor pools because of the laws over 'gender dress'.

Teen ran out with a $2 beer. Memphis store clerk followed him and shot him dead - CNN

Anwar Ghazali was convicted of second-degree murder after a four-day trial, Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich said Friday. He will be sentenced on September 23.

"This defendant took it upon himself to be the judge and jury and the executioner over a $2 beer," prosecutor Lora Fowler said, according to CNN affiliate WMC.

Ghazali pulled out a handgun and followed him, firing several times. He didn't call the police, but told a witness as he returned to the store, "I think I shot him."

Harris was shot at least three times and was left to bleed out, Fowler said. His body was found two days later in a yard near the store with gunshots in the back of his thigh, Weirich said.
