    Guns?

Yep, adopt the US gun model too while we're at it.

It's not like research has proven that fast food is terrible for your health or anything, nor does it have huge cost effects on the overall healthcare system.

I'm sure people that are attending will be happy with these food choices though, given that the selections were based on polling those that attend the establishment.

Too bad we don't have a US healthcare system where we can deny service to those that abused their body and by extension, health, in the past.

Yes, I'm being facetious in case anyone is taking all this literally, which seems to happen way too often around here.

No doubt; students have to make dollar decisions and I remember one time not being able to afford starbucks on a coffee date because my paycheque only covered fuel and insurance while my bottles; which were my only disposable income for the month, got stolen.

    I completely understand their choices.

Indeed. Famaso isn't bad with some of their selections. However, I don't think the same can be said for the majority of Pizza 73, unfortunately.

Student surveys of high schools would also want certain types of food. Thankfully, the ministry of education supersedes their wants and makes executive decisions. I guess that since this is an adult population, Norquest can't really do the same thing.
I won't cross post, but the new Freshii is open just one block South of Norquest in the Mayfair.

Definitely not like they're going to be locked in their building.

And what I usually order from Pizza 73 is a "Tomato with Extra Cheese". Not exactly weight-loss food, but that doesn't strictly mean it's not healthy.

Your delusional. Pizza 73 uses a high fat cheese and it's not healthy.

The location is the existing or South NorQuest Tower. Does this mean ATB is opening a banking location in the lower floor of NorQuest? Or is this an ATM?

Some really good colours on this one. Overall a bit boxy from a few angles and not nearly enough glass on the street in the pic, but it's not terrible.

Not having looked under the bonnet of my lorry, as it's a bit of a hike to the lift down to the garage, I'd argue that we do, very much speak American ....

But Noodle's partly right in that in most cases we do spell British, in which case storey is correct.

On another topic, I'd kill to adopt Zee. How the hell did the Brits come up with Zed? What other letter in the alphabet ends with ed? Well, zeero to be precise.

I'd rather have yet another letter that rhymes with B, C, D, E, G...... When you're on the phone and trying to get the spelling right, it can be frustrating trying to tell one from the other, particularly when it's noisy. When someone says Zed, there's no question which letter they mean.

I'm not sure about the full street interaction. I was commenting on the lack of glass elsewhere. People see more than just the front doors, especially downtown.

My only suggestion would have been to use some colour on the east facade. That middle grey could have been a very neat mosaic reflecting the diversity of the College.

^ while I definitely agree the original building could use a WSP style reclad, I'd prefer the money be spent more land acquisition and expansions.

I read somewhere that NorQuest plans to double their student intake within the next decade.

I suspect that as MacEwan expands and concentrates on their degree programs, many of MacEwan's diploma and certificate programs are going to be squeezed out, and many of those will be picked up by NorQuest.

Dunno - the WSP reclad is incredible, but to some so is brutalist architecture, which you see on so many institutional buildings. Not a fan myself, but there are those who are.

Yes, it would. I think NorQuest owns the the parking lots and the one-story building across 108 Street from the main building, so I expect any further expansion to happen in that direction.

They had a plan several years ago that had a health care education building on that site, and some sort of care facility for clinical experience/inexpensive labour. Right now the building is the construction office.

They're also in the old A&B sound building on 106st but I believe that's leased space.

I passed by the building late in the semester and it looked great inside. So should this thread be changed from Under Construction to Complete? or are we waiting for the new quad to be built before we can declare this project complete?
