The original People's Court was interesting, because most of the cases were just everyday run-of-the-mill disputes involving average people, such as you were likely to encounter in a typical small-claims court. Stuff along the lines of unpaid labour, damaged property etc. Unlike later reality law shows, the cases didn't seem selected for sensational soap-opera type appeal. And Wapner avoided the kind of grandstanding and moralism that you saw on the later shows.

Yeah, I was talking about Staley. Wood was the pioneer, I guess, but Mother Love Bone never really had much notoriety and certainly weren't one of the Seattle 4, in terms of success/notoriety. It's just bizarre how many of those guys are dead, while Plant, Tyler, and Jagger are alive.

True true - must be the heroin - can't see Heroin being more popular with the Grunge guys. Pretty sure Tyler kept the plantations in 'Nam busy with his use alone.

^I was too young to understand much of the "camp" humor, but he certainly was the bond I grew up with. More recently I got to see old episodes of "the Saint", TV series - he was amazing in that (better than as bond).

Roger Moore was a characterure of Bond. He was more about gadgets than being a spy. Sean Connery was a much more believable Bond and a better actor and even Moore stated so.

Sad hockey news that puts a damper mood on such a positive and forward changing event this weekend for the Oilers. I never meant Dave Semenko. I'm no expert but apparently pancreatic cancer is a rare form of cancer and has a under 5% survival rate. I don't know what Dave Semenko's life style was like in his last few years but I'd hazard a guess that he might have been suffering through type 2 diabetes. My condolences to the family.

The wives usually outlive their husbands. She was very good in Mission Impossible too. Shows our age remembering that. I didn't know they split though so checked wiki and it was in 93 after 36 years, pretty good for Hollywood. They married in 1957, sixty years ago.

^ Well yes under normal circumstances. For some reason I picture Martin Landau & Joe Penny synonymously. Don't know why.

He's the guy at the beginning of Meatballs who gets berated by the kid about the condition of the bus, right? Strange, I was thinking about that scene(well, the film in general as well) a couple of hours back.

That's really unfortunate. I quite liked their music in my teenage angsty years, but they struggled moving past that kind of music.

I saw Streetheart at a music festival outside Athabasca in the late 1970s. A lot of Canadian bands there and a lot of fun. Thousands of people all partying hearty. Oh, those were the days.
