    Default Venezuela's collapse

    CBC radio had some interesting interviews today covering the economic and social collapse occurring in Venezuela. Overly relied on oil for subsidizing everything I suppose. Then there’s the large scale corruption and theft that is apparently taking place.

    Chavezís attempt at modern day socialism backfired and free enterprise hightailed it out of the country, including big oil. A lesson to be learned there. Watching the strife was hard. I hadnít realized it was so bad. These people really need a place to go. Hopefully Justin was tuned in.

    the real issue is the economic sanctions being illegally placed on Venezuela as well as hoarding of goods by private corporations. but no one actually wants to look into the problems...

    Canada refuses to sign a statement against military intervention but 'still opposes armed action'

    CBC News ∑ Posted: Sep 19, 2018

    “Peru called for all members to back a motion repudiating "any type of action or declaration that implies military intervention or … threats or the use of violence."

    But after intense negotiations, only 11 of the 14 member states could agree to put their names on that statement.

    The holdouts were Canada and Venezuela's neighbours to its west and east, Colombia and Guyana. ...”

    Some live in a sheltered world, and don't realize the American government's evil acts is what you're saying? It is all about their oil corporates wanting Venezuela...

    which is to say, socialism isn't actually the problem. it's capitalism and the most rich and powerful wanting access to anyone's resources for themselves to profit on.

    As stronger socialism creeps into Canada more and more you will realize stifling big business will affect you. Albertans will soon realize the effect as the oil industry will be one of the first to be stymied. Once the effects reach your personal and family life you may open your eyes. There is a big difference between social programs and actual Marxist-Leninist socialist government.

    It already has affected Alberta. American corporates took over and all our wages went down. Practically every trade up north, there respective companies in which they work for at the plants is owned by American GIANTS- or has mass interest.

    Thank you for that article as it stated 'ConocoPhillips' which I was hesitant to state out.

    There is that saying ..."moderation" in All honesty, does it matter if it is capitalism, communism , or socialism as they're only good on paper. The problem is man himself. They don't know when wealth should stop, and their greed is what destroys the potential. Is there really a balance? Sweden was a great example, but not lately as there country seem to be heading towards uncharted territory with their citizens- a lot of discontent.

    @SecPompeo
    #Russia's government has sent bombers halfway around the world to #Venezuela. The Russian and Venezuelan people should see this for what it is: two corrupt governments squandering public funds, and squelching liberty and freedom while their people suffer.
