Hey ThomasH, thanks for including "Edmonton" in each post. I would never have known otherwise what the pictures are depicting.

I love this pic used in a City website - had the angle managed to get Epcor Tower and Rogers Place into the shot while keeping the south-side high-rises it would be perfect. https://www.edmonton.ca/projects_plans/annexation.aspx

I've noticed that they've updated some of their ground shots since the crane came down on Stantec. But yeah, it'll take a year or two for them to update the various seasonal aerial shots. It's not like they have a heli circling the arena every game.

    From your perspective.

Also I thought image posters were asked to include a link in addition to the photo. Did that change?

How do search engines return results? One C2E objective was to promote Edmonton. (Maybe putting Edmonton in with each photo improves the presentation.)

^ depends on how much rain has happened in the watershed, that's for sure. i've seen the river as clear as mountain lakes or as muddy in that picture with debris like fallen trees floating down.

Hey ThomasH, do you have consent to post Judith's pictures? They're clearly flagged "all rights reserved" on Flickr & shouldn't really be posted willy-nilly without the copyright holder's permission.

My photos also have the all rights reserved symbol on Flickr as well but I still allow people to share via BB Code. Others like Jeff Wallace have turned off that feature in Flickr. As far as I can tell I am doing a service in showing Judith's wonderful photos to a larger audience that can go to her Flickr page and see more. If she doesn't like what I am doing, she can tell me. It is not up to you Noodle, I suggest you refrain from sticking your nose in other people business.

Noodle, would you like me to post your "Transformers" photos? You love Transformers so much you actually takes pictures of them...

That's what I did when I noticed she's got hers flagged "All Rights Reserved". The fact you're aware of it & still disregard it is hilarious, especially considering you used to be a mod here. "This law is inconvenient & I feel morally justified in disregarding the expressed wishes of someone else to polish my own knob."

Your flouting & blatant disregard of the basic concepts of copyright put the forum at risk, not just yourself. Think about the consequences of your actions beyond your own puerile self-aggrandizing.

I take pictures of my hobby & share them online. Wooooo! Certainly something to try and mock people for after they point out your blatant copyright infringement & on point with your immature lashing out you've done previously here & on SSP.

I used to take & post a lot of Edmonton photos, but they kept getting linked to or used without proper attribution as per the rather generous CC licence I use on my Flickr stuff, so I decided to keep that stuff to myself. People like you ruined it for everyone.

You realize that the option to let the public view and share your flickr photos is what was selected, otherwise the BB Code linking option would not be available. The all rights reserved selected just in case someone posts a photo in a place where the photo does not belong or is in conflict with the photographer's wishes. BTW, thank you for clicking on the link to the source of the image, I believe that is something every photographer would like viewers to do.

I am not flouting any disregard for copyright, I am sharing an excellent photo to like minded people. You think I do this for my own personal gain? I make no money doing this, whenever someone praises me for sharing a photo I always tell them to praise the actual photographer. I have no need for an ego boost. Unlike you who always bemoan the popularity of other people on this and other forums. "Uber allies", grow up this isn't high school.

I also take pictures of my hobby and share them online. There is nothing wrong with that but I have absolutely no interest in posting your "transformers" photos. Posting them here would be completely out of place, and disrespectful to you. The post I made above is me giving you an example of how not to share photos.

I recall you whining about this very subject a couple of years ago and I responded by posting one of your Edmonton photos. I was surprised to see the positive feedback you got from that photo, I guess you were too as you never complained.
I have high standards when it comes to finding photos to share on C2E and other related forums. I struggled to find anything good enough from your collection to post, that BW photo was one of your better ones. Fun fact, good images get shared on the internet, at least I do it in a respectful way.

Medwards, what you said is relevant to you as well.

Doesn’t matter what your attempted justification is or what your opinion is of my photographs, you’re still breaking copyright laws.

Nice attempt to justify how you’re somehow above the rules & beyond reproach.

No wonder you’re not a mod here anymore.
