    Default Candidate Shelley Tupper

This thread is to ask questions of Candidate Shelley Tupper - Councillor Ward 2.

All members are asked to allow the Candidate to post first in his or her thread. This is to allow the Candidate ample opportunity to introduce their background, platform, and any other information they may feel is pertinent to this discussion.

All decorum expected of members in the C2E Ask Forums will be expected here. An addendum is that posters may ask as many questions as they wish, but they are also politely asked to follow any instructions on posting or reply timelines that the Candidate expresses.

Thank you to all for participating in the 2010 Connect2Edmonton Election Forum!

Shelley - you didn't make a very strong case in your video interview with CTV on why we should elect you. Most of your answers were under a minute long and in most cases you didn't even answer the question. So . . .

High taxes and more services or low taxes and fewer services? You didn't answer that, just skirted it.

Should the city inspire with art or focus on infrastructure? As an artist I'd really like to know your stand, it was wishy washy at best.

How do you tackle perceived crime problems in the city? you say the police are doing a great job? so you don't think we have any problems with crime then? gangs? homelessness?

What is the most important issue for voters? that we want good people in office? that's not an issue facing the city really, is it? What do you feel is the most important issue we as voters should be looking at and basing our votes on?

What qualifications in your background and experience do you feel make you right for this job?

PS you were asked to talk about the issue you were most passionate about and you spoke for less than a minute. How does that give us voters confidence that you'll be able to represent us at council and make your point heard by others? If you can't talk for more than a minute on something you are supposedly passionate, how will you be heard?
