EDMONTON — Communities around the proposed University of Alberta South Campus development will be consulted about plans for the 2017 Expo site there, a public meeting was told Monday.

More than 250 area residents gathered at McKernan School for the meeting Monday organized by MLA Kevin Taft. They expressed concern about the impact of the Expo development. Some said there has been little consultation by the University of the Alberta, which owns the South Campus land.

Ruth Kelly, a member of the bid committee, said the committee intends to do that. “Our responsibility is to consult widely with the people most affected so we will have ongoing thoughtful consultation,” she said.
