Taste of Edmonton unveils its menu
edmontonjournal.com Published: 10:52 am June 26 2008 http://www.canada.com/edmontonjourna...d-d1cc51b366c5 EDMONTON - The menu at A Taste of Edmonton just keeps getting longer. This year, the popular festival, which runs from July 18 to 27 at Churchill Square, is adding 23 new items, among them banana curry chicken, Mexican fried ice cream, seasoned shrimp on a skewer and Sno Cones with fruit and cream. Seven new restaurants will join 33 others in showing off their culinary wares: Chef's Grill, L'Espresso Cafe, Lingnan, New Asian Village, Noodle Noodle Restaurant, Taste of Ukraine and Zucchero Cappuccino Bar. A Taste of Beer is making its second appearance at the festival, with products from Alley Kat Brewing, Amber Brewing, Molson and Sleeman. |

I just hope the ticket prices don't go up again... when you're paying $1 a ticket, a sample sized taste costs you $5, which is getting to be a bit ridiculous. You can easily spend about $30 a person, which makes it hard to go back more than once.

YES!
This is my favorte summer festival, i always end up eating at these places after I sample the food, $1.00 isn't that much still I went to Taste Of Vancouver last year it was horrible! 7-8 stands and tickets were 1.50 and most places took 5-7 tickets and 3 places had hamburgers! |

Maybe it's not that bad, but considering it's a way to advertise your business/restaurant, how much sense does it make that you make a profit to advertise instead of pay to advertise? I know, I know... I'm just ranting now, but I wasn't too impressed that the tickets went from $.75 to $1 last year... any higher and I won't bother going again.

I see what you mean, but I'm also looking more forward to this.

I'm totally looking forward to it... it is one of my favorite events on Churchill Square, it's just getting a little too expensive to actually enjoy it more than one evening. If prices were a little more reasonable, I would be there 2 or 3 times during the festival.
