Hello! I have a question. I saw a banner on the south wall of the parkade across the street from the Starlite room on 102. It read The Wall comming soon- Melcor developments. Does anyone know more? Thanks..
Happy Summer Solstice!!! ![]() Thought I would edit the post with a visual. Looks to be just the size of the framed section? Last edited by piglet; 21-06-2012 at 09:02 PM.. Reason: photo upload |

I think that's a public art project that Melcor is doing on the blank wall of the building across from the Starlite.

Wasn't Roger Waters in town just a couple of weeks ago?

We don't need no, fancy murals.
We don't need no, public art. All in all it'll just become, faded paint on the wall. |

Glad someone finds me clever, thanks Montrosian.
^That article is almost a year old, but I haven't seen anything happening on the wall yet. Might have to sing: The promises haven't come to fruition. Melcor's leaving that wall alone. Hey... Melcor! Paint that wall downtown! All in all it's just a... nother project in a lull. |

I'm guessing it died when Babiak left the Journal.

I cant help but wonder if the subject matter of the mural was considered by Melcor as making a point for valid and positive protest vs. the occupy movement ( of which Melcor was a victim of last year).
Another public art addition to downtown , another step in the right direction. |

Nice to bring more awareness to the Famous 5 but that mural is hideous.

I quite like that mural. Much like an earlier mural in this series, located on 95th street at 113th ave, commomerating Lois Hole, it is very dignified and respectful

I thought 'The Wall' was supposed to be some sort of cutting edge dynamic projection.

Didn't see this elsewhere on c2e ...
Architecture Canada's 2012 National Urban Design Awards. This Edmonton project called "Transition" was a winner for urban fragments. It's located on the east end of a downtown building on the west side of 105 Street just north of 100 Avenue.
