Hello! I have a question. I saw a banner on the south wall of the parkade across the street from the Starlite room on 102. It read The Wall comming soon- Melcor developments. Does anyone know more? Thanks..

It will fade a bit but then you just do a touch up job or make a new mural

^That article is almost a year old, but I haven't seen anything happening on the wall yet. Might have to sing:

The promises haven't come to fruition.
Melcor's leaving that wall alone.

I cant help but wonder if the subject matter of the mural was considered by Melcor as making a point for valid and positive protest vs. the occupy movement ( of which Melcor was a victim of last year).

Another public art addition to downtown , another step in the right direction.

Architecture Canada's 2012 National Urban Design Awards.

This Edmonton project called "Transition" was a winner for urban fragments. It's located on the east end of a downtown building on the west side of 105 Street just north of 100 Avenue.

“The process of painting a mural on a visible and significant downtown building is not without its challenges, as the Edmonton Arts Council recently discovered. Budgetary issues and procedural requirements necessitated a complex series of negotiations with artists, the City of Edmonton, and product suppliers. The many unforeseen circumstances only galvanized the resolve of those involved with the project, who remained committed to bringing this project to life–despite its overwhelming challenges. The resulting mural not only creates a successful addition to downtown life through public art, but represents an extraordinary amount of research, volunteerism, fundraising and sweat equity for the many participants involved.”
