I heard they're opening soon in the "ultralounge" format, with $10 cover, bottle service, and dress code.
IMHO, wrong concept in the wrong location. Is there even demand for this? I didn't realize Treasury was so full that competition was required. We could use some fancier lounges, but at the very least they should be right in the downtown core, one would think?

That's the beauty of having entrepreneurs in our society, they take chances that a lot of other people don't understand and/or think of as too risky, unnecessary, and unwise and sometimes generate fantastic results while proving 'naysayers' wrong.

I would say its all about doing it right whether it's a sports lounge or an "ultra" lounge or whatever...hence the failure of the Overtime (seems to work fine in the Park...but Hudson's does a better job at the same schtick) and the pending failure of the Treasury...it really doesn't matter how much you spend making the place look good. It's actually quite simple kind of like a house party....invite the right mix of people and serve them good food and booze.

I hope I'm wrong and it thrives, but I'm putting my bet on it that this place folds in under two years and undergoes renovation #85. Contractors must love this building. Personally, if they want upscale, they should mirror Soho in Calgary, and try to outclass Lux and 100hundred.
