I think this is in the wrong section - the question is rhetorical in nature.

Anyway, my votes for best-looking media ladies at each TV station:

CTV - Natasha Staniszewski, Carrie Doll, Sonia Sunger (I'd include Valerie Oczkowski but I don't know if she's still around)
CBC - Tiffany Burns, Carole Ann Guay
CityTV - Asha Tomlinson
Global - Linda Nguyen, Su-Ling Goh, Nicola Crosby, Laurel Clark

everybody knows that the quality of a newscast is directly proportional to the hotness of their anchors....
(btw Linda Nguyen = win)

^ Yeah I knew Valerie returned after recovering from her brain cancer surgery but she hasn't been on the air recently. Hopefully she's just on holidays or something, and is still OK.

Krista Erickson is not an Edmonton media personality.

But if you want to talk about national reporters, Marcia MacMillan on CTV News Channel is a sweetie.

There's no indication that this is limited to Edmonton media personalities.

There is no indication that this is limited to female reporters only.
From a womans perspective I like Anderson Cooper from CNN.

The opening post listed all local reporters so I assumed that's what this thread is about.

But you are correct there is no indication this was only about Edmonton reporters. In that case add CBC's meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe to the list. Maybe I have a thing for glasses.

This is what Wikipedia has to say...

Quote:
Cooper has never married and has actively avoided discussing his private life, citing a desire to protect his neutrality as a journalist. His public reticence contrasts deliberately with his mother's life spent in the spotlight of tabloid journalists and her publication of memoirs explicitly detailing her affairs with celebrities; Cooper vowed "not to repeat that strategy".[18][19][20] Independent news media have reported that Cooper is gay,[21] and in May 2007, Out magazine ranked him second behind David Geffen in their list of the fifty "Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America."[22] When asked about his sexuality he stated "I understand why people might be interested. But I just don’t talk about my personal life. It’s a decision I made a long time ago, before I ever even knew anyone would be interested in my personal life. The whole thing about being a reporter is that you're supposed to be an observer and to be able to adapt with any group you’re in, and I don’t want to do anything that threatens that."[4] He has, however, discussed his desire to have a family and children.[5]

Well, Wikipedia says it all.
I've seen him get interviewed and be on shows like Regis & Kelly and not a mention. My chances of getting it on with Anderson just went from slim to nil, DARN.

Well, since nobody wants to talk about E-town ladies anymore - whatever became of Lynn Russell? She was an icon on CNN for years, then moved to CBC.

My kingdom for an intimate week with Erin Isfeld....

That said: Edmonton boasts one of the most impressive (if not the best) portfolios of hot women on the tube for a local market... i've lived in many cities in the world.

In no particular order, these are impartially stunning tv women:

Erin Isfeld
Carrie Doll
Andrea Engel (Global)
Wendy Sandwith (Citytv)
SuLinGoh (Global)

I've met her in person. I was dazzled by her eyes and smile.
'Sides, I was picking by station and there's been slim picks at CityTV since Jennifer Martin was let go.

There was a time when 99% of A-Channel female personalities were blonde. What is A-Channel now? CityTV?

I really need cable back just for this thread...

She married former Eskimo quarterback Jason Johnson a couple of years ago. Last I heard she went to Italy to produce a television reality show based on her husband playing American football in Europe.

SonicDeathMonkey... I think people are pretty critical. Even if a person has 99% positive qualities... They'll spot the 1% thats bad and stick on that. It's sad...

I give all those anchors really great credit. I've taken a tour of their station and behind the scenes, their work is pretty intense...

I've gotten interviewed a few times by paper and tv guys and they really work hard to bring us great content day after day.

It'd break my heart if I saw any of them lose their jobs because of a few posts like Howie's and Sonicdeathmonkey's.

LOL! If I've got a chip on my shoulder, I take it off and pop it in my mouth.

Look, Sonia is a fine looking gal, but I don't think she'll challenge the likes of Sandie Rinaldo, Dawna Friesen, etc. in the reading dept. Locally, I give top marks to Global's Lynda Steele in the flub-free stakes.

Last Sunday night was Natasha Staniszewski's final sports anchor gig at CTV Edmonton. At the end of the news Sonia Sunger wished her good luck at her new gig at TSN.

Dresses more for a Friday night in a dance club in Tribeca or the Meatpacking District (pun intended) rather than covering breaking news stories....Gotta show off those guns ya know...LOL.

Jeffrey Kofman formerly of the CBC and now with ABC (another team member) also has a penchant for wearing size small polos and t's to show off the results of ALOT of gym time.

^Well, my thinking is he wears those black t-shirts because they are practical. Anderson likes to get right in the thick of it. Black does not show the dirt as much, like when he is in war torn areas or covering earthquakes. He probably buys black t-shirts made of a material that holds it's shape, something he can rinse in the hotel bathroom, dry out fast and still look good. As for his abs, if you've got it, flaunt it.

I don't buy it. When your in a hot climate (Haiti for instance) wearing something that tight just makes you sweat more and feel hotter, Look at how the Haitians dress, nothing nearly as tight as Andersons second skin t's and those are people aclimatieed to the heat and humidity.

When they had CNN down covering the quake devastation Anderson started a trend with other CNN staffers starting to go the tight t route as well The New York times even did a an article on the "phenom" Dr SAnjay Gupta and a few others followed suit but Anderson carried it off the best.
I thought it was quite ironic watching all these US reporters strutting around in tight shirts and jeans while reporting on the human misery around them
Will CNN now ship Anderson to Sendai in Japan to cover the quake/tsunami devastation in his tight clothes..........Stay tuned.

The boy is buff and yes he likes to show it off. Looks good in a suit too I might ad.

^Surely you are not comparing how Haitians dress to the way Anderson dresses. Those poor Haitians were probably donated those clothes by overweight Americans, that's why they are so loose. Gay or not, whatever my Anderson wears is fine with me.

Your missing my point.......Perhaps Haiti was a poor example but if you have seen how people in most tropical countries dress it generally does NOT consist of a cotton/spandex/lycra blend tight T-shirt.

Does that work for you? And I will not disagree with the choice of Andersons taste or stylists tastes either.

I wonder about Nicola who seems to have lost weight for some mysterious reason - hope everything is fine but she needs about 15-20 lbs to look just fine and dandy again.

I bought a Raise A Reader Journal paper from three of my favorite Global ladies on the NE corner of Jasper/101 St. Vassy, Nicola and Linda look even better in person.

Though I didn't buy my Journal from them (I bought mine further south on 101 from someone named Steve Tambellini. Who?), I did pass the Global crew (no Nicola ). And SDM you are correct, Vassy in person, meeeoww!
Btw, Tambo was happy to chat Oilers with me. I appreciated the 5 minutes and wished him and the team well. I believe he's done a good job in his tenure so far and told him so.

If I wasn't running late for work, I would have stayed, chatted with the Global girls, got a phone number (wishful thinking I know). Vassy's eyes and smile have stayed in my head all day.

I don't mind waking up in the morning to the traffic reports from Daintre on the Global morning news. She has nice eyes, they seem too smile at the viewer. Plus she's from North Bay - pretty ladies in northern Ontario safe to say...

Daintre is attractive but sometimes she comes across as a bit of a bimbo hick. There could a fiery multi-collision with mutilated bodies strewn all over the road and she'd be reporting it with that empty-headed grin on her face. That, and she needs to show more traffic cam.

BTW, I heard that Christine Salvo has left Global and going back to the States for an anchor job there.

Considering I have had the pleasure of meeting many of the folks you all mention here...

Not only is Daintre a pleasure to deal with...and bimbo hick are definitely not two words I'd use...but these ladies you all are commenting on also have plenty of grey matter between those ears...

Just my two cents...

15.000 plus views and only one page.

There is a lot of curious folk in Edmonton regarding 'Hot .. Reporters'. My latest vote is for City's' Michelle MacDougall (sp?) - nice smile and , just something about that voice...

McDougall is quite attractive. But have you seen her billboard ads? I dunno if its a photo touching fail, but they make her smile look like the Joker.

My top pick at CityTV is Carla the traffic girl.

According to some tweets, the new Global 6 pm anchor will be one of the best around and absolutely gorgeous, expect Carole Anne Guay to soon be joining Gord Steinke.

Sonia Sunger has been anchoring the CTV weekend news sans wedding ring for at least a couple of months now. If she's free game, male viewers throughout North and Central Alberta will rejoice!

What happened to Linda Nguyen? It appears she's no longer with Global, and her twitter account is gone.

I don't know if this is the same Linda Nguyen, but if so she's with Postmedia covering the Rafferty trial.

That is definitely not her. Her bio is still on the Global site (not that they update it very often) and her LinkedIn profile has Global as her present employer, maybe mat leave?
