What moves you about Edmonton?
Share YOUR Edmonton with the world! (June 15, 2009) Edmonton, Alta.— Edmonton International Airport (EIA) today launched envisionEdmonton, a public photo contest that will tell our story to the world. Edmontonians are invited to capture what moves them about this great city—whether it’s our festivals, sports scene, arts and culture or the great outdoors—and project their favourite Edmonton photo onto the walls of our upcoming Terminal Express temporary passageway while we prepare for the new terminal in 2012. “When Terminal Express opens this October, the world will be watching. More than one million passengers will pass through Terminal Express per year! This contest brings to life our new brand promise, we’ll move you, by putting Edmonton’s best face forward even as we undergo a major construction project. envisionEdmonton will be a great chance to showcase the spirit of Edmonton to our international travellers,” says Reg Milley, EIA President and CEO. Contestants who submit their photos to envisionedmonton@flyeia.com will have a chance to win a $500 travel voucher from EIA, or runner-up prizes which include gift certificates from McBain Camera and EIA-branded merchandise. The top photographs will be mounted on large decals and used to provide a welcoming and engaging atmosphere in the Terminal Express arrivals area. Terminal Express is a temporary, pre-fabricated structure which will allow EIA to relocate six gates while the terminal expansion is built to the south of the current building. During its lifespan at the airport, it will serve as the departures gateway and arrivals area for all US flights as well as some domestic and international flights. “There’s no better way to welcome our international guests to the region EIA proudly serves than by engaging our community to help us transform the interior of a pre-fab modular hallway into a showcase for the best Edmonton has to offer,” adds Milley. Anyone interested in participating should visit flyeia.com for contest details. Submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4. -30- For media inquiries only: Donna Call Director, Communications EIA Phone: 780-890-8454 Cell: 780-717-5117 E-mail: dcall@flyeia.com Last edited by Moderator10; 15-06-2009 at 10:40 AM.. Hmm interesting, might have to pick out a good photo, or get out and take some better photos. We'll see.
