I am in a rock band, looking for a good location to do a photo shoot in Edmonton, preferably indoors. Any good ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Depends on what type of image you are looking for of course but I would suggest the Red Cross Building on Kingsway (the staircase is really neat).
Another suggestion would be the upstairs at the Citadel. |

You could rent a room in the Strathcona hotel... it's pretty cool looking.

Depending on what look you're going for... the Butterdome can be pretty cool, as well as LRT stations.

I was out at the old Red Barn in Bon Accord (http://www.lilylakeresort.com/) for the very first time a few weeks ago, even though I've heard about it for years. I know it's not in Edmonton, but it's really not that far outside. Anyway, I was completely blown away that such a huge building exists there. I am told that they've had many concerts there over the years (even Johnny Cash & June Carter). They have just tons of stuff everywhere in that building, which could provide for some interesting shots in an unexpected location. Specifically a waterfall and one of their old cars.

Wow..a lot of great suggestions. I think we'll keep many of them in mind. I have seen the Red Barn before many times, since I grew up in Gibbons. But we did do a few photos, and decided on the Corona LRT station, then we went to the downtown GMCC campus and did some shots in the 109 st walkway. They turned out very cool!
We are a rock band, so we were looking for some scenes grungy, some clean with interesting lighting and modern decor as well.

How about the inside of L'Azia in City Centre West?

I wonder if they would let us shoot inside a restaurant. I think some bars would allow it in the proper circumstances.

Also, and this one is for curiousity, did you get permission in advance to use these areas, and if not, did you run into any problems doing so?

We didn't ask permission for GMCC or the LRT station, and the security didn't seem to mind us doing it.
