I'm not sure what I dislike more, a new Costco or that it's in a neighbourhood called Granville. Although, there's almost no naming relevance in any of those deep suburban areas. I think California is the next neighbourhood going in?

Not sure why they would not inlcude the liquor store. I know it was originally planned.

Also to note the NE Costco looks about halfway done theyir new gas bar. They put in the north west corner well out of the way, I'm sure it will attract its own traffic.

Talked to an employee from 149 street Costco this a.m. . Opening date is scheduled for October.

I worked on a job in nearby Lewis Estates, they tried 3 different concepts for the elevator foundation to keep it from sinking before finally pounding quite a few J piles about 90' deep.

I think he means a liquor store. It better have a gas bar. I think all their new locations do, and most of the old stores across Canada have seen them added over the past few years.

Actually there is. Read about it here. There is an 'official' list of names which is provided by the City that are to be used for new neighbourhoods, streets, or other facilities.

So... we drove by the new building and the signs are already up and the exterior is complete. Parking lot is all that remains. I have a feeling it will be open before October.

I'm familiar with the process. I'd like to hear the exact relevance for neighborhoods named "The Hamptons", "Granville", "California", "Summerside"... sounds like we just ripped off names used elsewhere, or generic happyfuntimeland names in the case of Summerside.

That's a fine looking Costco we have in the beautiful new area called Granville.IBI engineering was secured to control architectural guidelines in Granville and its the first time this renowned company has worked in Edmonton..Of course they would have controled the new Costco's elevation's as well and it looks fantastic and fits well in Granvilles aspect.
Thanks for coming to west Edmonton Costco, and for Alldritt to work with them we sure required this store in west Ed.
St Albert is the next location for Costco to build, and it has been approved with some minor issues to be negotiated between them and the developer for store #6!

Just came back from the new Costco in the west end. I was amazed that there is still road construction at the turn off from the Whitemud. Traffic was backed up for blocks as concrete was being poured for a median. It's amazing that they should have known the draw of Costco and finished this up long before the opening. Epcor was even there,retiming the advanced green signals. GONG SHOW

I wish the Whitemud past the Costco and River Cree was up to Whitemud Standards through Enoch to the highway. Going from freeway down to the ****** little road barely wide enough for two vehicles to pass by eachother with pavement crumbling is embarrassing and dangerous especially with the traffic numbers. I hope this changes for better access.
