The Summer of Thunder continues The AlbertaAviationMuseum Airline Pull is a go! June 7th, 2012 Thanks to a number of last minute entries the AlbertaAviationMuseum Airline Pull is a go for 2012. “There are now enough teams in place to make the expense of the event worthwhile. The AlbertaAviationMuseum makes nothing from the teams entering, it all goes to the winning teams charity of choice. But it costs several hundred dollars to put on so to make it worthwhile we needed enough teams entered to make the benefit to the community exceed the cost to the Museum.” Commented Tom Hinderks of the AviationMuseum. Heres the challenge for the Teams... July 7th starting at 10am teams of 20 vs 68,000 pounds (31,000kg) of Boeing 737 Airliner. 2012 Airliner Pull Everyone was a winner Every team completed every pull of the 33,000kg Boeing 737. There were (2) 100 foot pulls to warm up and then the monster (1) 300 foot pull. The winning team was the Fire Fighters Burn Treatment Society team with a new record for the 300 foot pull…43.72 seconds vs last years winner Team BradKen Canada at 44.22 seconds. The second place team was the Solicitor General’s Sheep Dogs, third ABL Xpress. But the big winners here are the teams that participated and the Fire Fighters burn Treatment Society which will receive $1200.00. All of the entry fees from all (6) teams. The Alberta Aviation Museum covers the costs of the event and keeps none of the prize money…it all goes to the winning teams charity of choice.
