Edmonton Public Schools - Sector Review How do we identify the areas where new schools are required? How can our existing schools be renewed so that they remain sustainable? How can school space be transformed into valuable space for the community when student enrolment is insufficient to keep the facility open? These questions will form the basis for dialogue with parents, EPSB staff and other interested stakeholders over the next several months. The answers to these questions will help the Edmonton Public School Board (EPSB) to develop a plan for managing student space now and into the future. There is an opportunity for YOU to become involved in these discussions, in a variety of ways.

Default Regarding school for second grade

Hi Everyone,

We are planning to shift from Texas to Edmonton this month.

I am in search of school for my daughter who is going to the second grade this year.

Please do help me out in giving some hint about the school search.

Thanks
Sudha

In the Edmonton Public website, under FIND A SCHOOL, start with schools by WARD. Within each ward there is a pdf map that show the name and location of each school.
The following is a link to a city wide map that shows the general location of schools.

I am not familiar with the Catholic school website.

Hi All,

Finally we have reached Edmonton and having a tuff time in finding the apartment. We booked the apartment near 101 ave.

And now I feel I don't have any good schools near by.

Please do let me know if you have any good school near 101 ave.

Thanks
Sudha

Hi Sudha,

You are in Ward G of the Edmonton Public school district

or

http://www.epsb.ca/schools/ward-g.shtml

You can open the pdf map and you are going to either be in the Gold Bar district or the Fulton Place District for the school and looks like Gold Bar school is the K to 6 school in the area

Hope this helps

Sorry Sudha I can't answer that question my son is in the Elk Island Public School district in Strathcona County just to the East of Edmonton. I will say that the schools at this grade level are pretty consistent with their quality and all schools have to follow the provincial guidelines for curriculum

Hopefully some other members may have some experience with this school

Have you given the damage deposit and first months rent for the apartment? If not you can back out I believe but others on here now the Landlord and Tenant Act way better than I do!!

Ken

I am sure Gold Bar School has a good track record. The Gold Bar neighborhood is a well established neighborhood in Edmonton and the people I have known that live in the area have nothing but good things to say aboout it. I should imagine that goes for the school as well. Anyway, I have provided the link to the schools web-site. It may set your mind at ease.
