Mayor Mandel calls on city to better promote Edmonton. I agreed with Mandel as he said Edmonton is a city with no big plans at all.

Edmonton should also look towards diversifying its economy. Right now, natural gas is below $2/GJ, the lowest price in a long time.

Natural gas is not as relevant to the Edmonton economy as is the oilsands.

One thing I'd like to see from Alison Redford is working with Edmonton and the Capital Region to create a city charter.

While I'd like to see more LRT construction, I would not be disappointed if WLRT was delayed until after Mr. Mandel retires. He's been a great mayor, but his opposition to the 87 Av WLRT route was one of his biggest mistakes IMHO.

^ he means the 2008 COE transportation department approved routing for WLRT from WEM via the university to downtown that Mandel took offense to because it upset some of his prime $$$ campaign funders in Laurier Heights...

Maybe the most 'direct' route. But in terms of helping transform/redevelop some of our urban neighbourhoods I would say the current alignment is better.
