Do you think Smith's husband, David Moretta, who is an executive with Sun Media, influenced all the media to spread corrupted, dishonest, wicked, American-style Wildrose propaganda?

Yes, almost all the comments and polls from the Edmonton Sun and the Calgary Sun are pro-Wildrose. So, it is a strong possibly that the media and the populists want to control the government through the parallel power.

Redford already proved in the Debate she has a problem with honesty when she disputed being quoted from the Legislature Hansard, how she has now changed positions AGAIN. Its a bit of a ridiculous suggestion, the Sun has always been conservative in a tabloid sort of way, they would support Wild Rose regardless.

All the bold font emphasis in Nemic's posting makes me want to ask if there is any direct connection between Nemic and any competing political party. Maybe Nemic's should have disclosed her/his interests or agenda.

The Edmonton Sun is hugely pro wildrose. I wish I could vote wildrose, I agree strongly with their values but I love Edmonton more then I love the province and Edmonton will get the shaft from this Calgary based party.

I think Albertans are truly blind to think the media did not have a part in the Wildrose rise to power. Before anyone was talking about these people (years ago) they were putting out articles on how the Wildrose is the new party, the new right wing, ect ect.

Doesnt surprise me in the slighest that D.Smith husband works for the Sun.

Wildrose leader's husband quits job as Sun TV executive

EDMONTON - Wildrose leader Danielle Smith says her husband, veteran journalist David Moretta, has stepped down from his position as a senior executive at Sun TV.

“We don’t want it to look like he is trying to influence the news coverage, we don’t want his employer to have any allegations that in some way they are being biased, so we had to make the decision for him to leave,” Smith said Monday, one day after announcing the resignation on the social media network Twitter.

“We knew it would become increasingly difficult for him to be able to do his job without the perception of conflict of interest,” she said.
“At this point, it’s too difficult for him, working in a Calgary newsroom with the amount of attention that both the newspapers as well as the national network are paying to provincial politics.”

Moretta’s terms of employment prevent him from speaking publicly about his departure. A spokesman for the Sun News Network also declined to comment, citing the company’s human resources policy.

Nice to know the wild-royal couple has come to the conclusion that the damage is done. Everyone knows, after all of the Danielle Smith cheerleading during the election campaign, that Sun Media's reputation and credibility is shot.

“So long as (Moretta) is there, readers, viewers will assume the newsroom can never report anything negative about Smith and the party, that they cannot editorialize against them, that when an election comes they cannot report objectively,” Russell said.

“That’s the danger. It’s all about credibility, and without credibility we (journalists) have nothing.”

In an attempt to address allegations of bias, Sun TV had Moretta sign a written agreement that restricted his influence over coverage of Alberta politics. Russell said such internal memos would do little address public concerns about influence and bias.

Further, Russell said there is a risk that reporters working in the Sun newsrooms would self-censor, knowing that a key executive is married to the Wildrose leader.

“Nobody is going to say critical things about the boss’s wife,” he said.

If the Sun and the Smith's were worried about the perception of conflict of interest, why didn't David Moretta resign before the election campaign?

The wildrose isn't going anywhere...

There are social and fiscal right leaning people in this province... that voice isn't going to go anywhere and needs a palce in the legislature.

it is my belief that this voice is no longer strong enough to form a gov't however.

I wonder if it might be as well. It seems wrong that just being a politicians spouse limits your career opportunities (regardless of which party your spouse is in).
