Later in the article in the OP, they talk about another all-ages place called the Hydeaway.

“I’ve liked local bands for a long, long time and we’ve hosted hundreds, if not more, shows over the years,” says Jr Oldman, who programs The Hydeaway, 10209 100th Ave.

“Most of the CDs have come from fans of bands who are regular customers and say, ‘Check this out.’ We’ll keep adding to the collection. Hopefully, it will stimulate awareness of the musicians.”

^that bit about the Hydeaway is really cool. Hopefully some of the people travelling through and staying at the hostel right near there are hearing their fill of original Edmonton music.

The Hydeaway and the Artery are cool All Ages venues. Unfortunatley they do not book Hip Hop very often at all. So that leaves only Avenue Theatre as the only All Ages Hip Hop friendly venue.

Im very excited about Transcend as it is run in part by Joe Gurba (AKA the Joe) an Edmoton rapper. So I imagine many more All Ages Hip Hop shows are to come. Sweet.
