The City is inviting neighbourhoods and residents to participate in the following. Please pass it along to anyone who may be interested in participating in either of the following. Thank you!
Neighbourhood Engagement Strategy The Neighbourhood Engagement Strategy (NES) committee is inviting interested residents, organizations, community groups, faith and cultural groups and businesses to a workshop on March 10, 2012. The workshop will assist community groups to engage in projects to strengthen and enhance their neighbourhoods through the use of asset building strategies (i.e. the NES toolkit). Funding is available for qualified projects, and the application deadline for funding is on April 30, 2012. Please encourage everyone to learn more and attend the workshop (poster attached). Visit our website at http://www.edmonton.ca/for_residents...ngagement.aspx for more information on the NES and to download the funding application form. 2012 Good Neighbour Awards Nominate your Good Neighbour today and encourage your neighbours to take part too! Regardless of season or action, a good neighbour makes a neighbourhood shine all year long! As of February 15th you can nominate an individual, couple, family or group that makes a difference in the life of your neighbourhood. Encourage your neighbours to take part too! Learn more at www.edmonton.ca/goodneighbours and complete a nomination form or call 311 for details. Nomination deadline: March 31st, 2012 Winners will be recognized on May 15th, 2012 at City Hall during Connections 2012 -- an event connecting Edmontonians to City programs, projects and services that help make neighbourhoods great The 2012 Good Neighbour Awards is a partnership effort between the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, The REALTORS Association of Edmonton and the City of Edmonton. |

I'd like to propose a community garden for the "surplus" school sites in Blue Quill.
