| Air/Rail Links Edmonton continues to improve its ranking as a major transportation hub for northern Canada and beyond. New air routes, more cargo, Port Alberta, a major rail operations centre and the related infrastructure are all part of this increasingly critical component of the region’s economic growth. By chance that anyone goes to the Leduc Chamber of Commerce to watch planes?...don't...that brand new $ 50 000 viewing area paid for by EIA is under 2-3 feet of snow...not one attempt to clean it...you'll have to suffice by just parking in the lot and looking up from your car...
EIA needs to do a better job of letting (good word I guess) people watch planes taking off and landing and watching apron activities. We need a closer viewing area...and I have one...ever notice that nice big pile of dirt by the new cabby agency? That would be a prime spot to watch both runways and the apron activites. ![]() |

I suspect its up to the Chamber of Commerce to clear the snow at the "official" view spot. Agreed about getting a good view spot.

The runway of choice for viewing will be south of 12-30 when Port Alberta gets rolling and roads are in place. I would think that land close to the terminal would be very difficult to surrender for viewing but would be the best location. Edmonton's two runway system makes it impossible to properly view aircraft activity so any location would be poor right now. Hey at least you can get your shopping done at Safeway between flights!
