Default Clubs for the +30 crowd

Just wondering what the best places for the over 30 crowd are in town that are decent (so no Gaspump...lol). Tired of going to places with 20 year olds. The ones I like are On the Rocks and Suede.

Anything else?

neither of those are "clubs" but other places you might want to try are:

- prohibition
- hat
- pint

they all have a good mix of crowd and age

Besides the Gas Pump, On The Rocks and Hudsons, there's really not many places for the 30+ crowd that has a dance floor and all that.

If the Treasury ever opens (NW corner of Jasper and 100 St), that might be a good alternative.

...There's a reason for that. The sight of +30s desperately attempting to hang on to their youth is a truly tragic spectacle.

The ivory club tends to have an older crowd

Off the top of my head, Suede Lounge, 100, Lux, and The Hat are places that cater to the mostly 30+ crowd.

I went to Hundred for the first time on Friday night... and was very impressed. Great decor, great service, and the food was pretty decent too. My only disappointment was the cost of drinks... it's one thing to charge that much if you are serving something you can't find anywhere else, but to charge 2X as much for the same thing you can get anywhere else is a bit ridiculous.

or perhaps what is more tragic is that this city does not have enough places for those moving out of their youth clubbing days and into a more social scene for 30s and 40s.

Some of the best places i have been to for nightlife were for crowds in the 25-35 range in toronto or vancouver.

going to union hall to get drunk on cheap shots is one thing

being social and living a social life is another

Edmonton needs to cater to the latter much better, mind you 30+s in this city need to get off of the FCUKING couch and postpone yet another weekend of season 1-4 of _______.

Vote with your wallet. Top_Dawg never allows himself to get sucked into this.

Hey e-town, on Friday Top_Dawg looked across Jasper Ave from the Rose Bowl to see if he could spot you. Well now he knows why you weren't around. Checking out other venues you sly dawg.....are you considering crossing the floor ?

Top_Dawg could never be guilty of this - and he's well into his forties.

Alas, some dawgs never grow up.

I only had one beer there... had some drinks elsewhere afterwards. Crossing the floor? Nah, I rarely ever set foot in Buddy's... I'm definitely not a regular there.

I thoroughly agree. I was in NYC over NYE. We bought tickets to see Titus Andronicus (with the Detroit Cobras and 2 other soild opening bands.) It was in an intimate venue that had pretty much every demographic of ppl represented. It was very refreshing to see folks aged 20-40 all out on the scene having a good time.

The worst part of the night was post 3:45 am when all the decent folks went home and the place were taken over by angry, drunk 20 somethings...suddenly I felt like I was back in Oil City on a Saturday night.

Edmonton needs more places in the spirit of the Hat but with a club spin on it. The late 20-early 30 crowd might be pulled off their couches more if they felt they could go out in E-town without the risk of catching a stray elbow or getting puked on.
