Posting Events

Hi. I am new to connect2edmonton and would like to let others know about an upcoming festival, of interest to entrepreneurs.
How can I post an event?

I was thinking this the other day. While it's probably preferable that major events have their own threads, there are a lot of events that happen in the city that a poster may not want to start a new thread for.

A single thread where people can post event particulars would be good (possibly with a rule stating that discussion isn't allowed), and if people want to discuss the event further, they can start a thread.

I remember a few similar discussions in this forum about when does a public service announcement become spam. Remember those Divertido threads or any of those Open Mike gigs threads for some obscure bar?

^I see where you are coming from there. The potential to be abused is definately there.

As a point of reference though, I didn't know there was an accordian festival in Edmonton, but there is one mentioned in this thread: http://www.connect2edmonton.ca/forum...ad.php?t=14121

It probably wouldn't have received any mention otherwise.

If there is a separate thread to contain all major (or non-major) events in town, is it possible to display it in a regular calendar format? Might make it easier...

So, which forum will be appropriate to post a non-profit or fund raising event?

Unfortunately common users don't have access to add event to the calendar.
