Default Ya’Gotta - Folk Festivals, Powwows & Rodeos - Summer 2009

If you are planning to travel to western Canada, there are several events and activities that Ya'Gotta consider taking in!

During the last quarter century western Canada has become a hot-bed of roots based music and hosts a fabulous selection of folk music festivals (http://www.yagotta.ca/activities/folkfest.htm). Many of these folk music festivals in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the northern territories in western Canada (Yukon and the Northwest Territories), feature top industry performers, from around the world, as well as the amazing talent developed in our own country! To provide regional visitors with regional sounds and songwriting flair, many of these festivals also feature local favourites.

One of the best ways to experience the culture of the aboriginal first nations people, is to take in a Powwow. Click here (http://www.yagotta.ca/activities/powwow.htm) for our Ya'Gotta schedule of aboriginal powwows and gatherings in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the northern territories in western Canada (Yukon and the Northwest Territories).

From spring to fall western Canada is a great place to find real rodeos, with calf roping, bull dogging, bronc and bull riding, chuckwagon racing, barrel racing, quarter horse calf cutting contests and, of course, the rodeo clowns that save many thrown bull rider. Click here (http://www.yagotta.ca/activities/rodeos.htm) for Ya'Gotta's guide to the upcoming rodeo season.

Yagotta.ca (http://www.yagotta.ca/) is a made-in Edmonton website that features western Canadian adventure travel destinations and related activities. We have a new blog at http://yagotta.ca/blog/

Events happening outside of Edmonton can be tricky to find...

Try www.edmontonscountryside.com for a listing of many of the events happening in greater Edmonton.
