Let the banners wave...and the bells ring out... Alberta has it's official fungus. Isn't it great to be alive in these times of such heady decisions ? Wonder if it will start showing up as toppings on pizza's

EDMONTON — After roughly 40 minutes of debate Monday night, Alberta's MLAs gave the nod to introducing an official provincial mushroom.

Exactly...... I know when politicians come knocking on my door at election time, the first question I ask is ' When is this province going to get in the 21st century' and name a official fungus or is that fungii? My Gawd.... what's next?.... an official deodorant ?

I'm glad to see the province taking this topic so seriously, it is something that was very urgently needed to be known by Alberta.

/end sarcasm.

With that said, people have too much time on their hand. That's 40mins those MLAs will never get back, heh.

That's 40 minutes worth of MLA salaries that the province will never get back... what a waste of time.

I agree with the MLAs and think they need to designate everything that is Alberta.

So here are some suggestions of items left to choose:

1. Official waste of legislature time activity
2. Official emission from Alberta
3. Official whine (no, not a type-o)
4. Official response to federal interference
5. Official method for ramming legislation in the minimum amount of time
6. Official bad-news cover up
7. Official private government jet destination
8. Official hand out to Oil and Gas industry
9. Official way to raise money from non-Oil and Gas industry (my vote is Gambling)
speaking of gambling:
10. Official card game
11. Official sport (the Liberal party tried that one, but didn't go anywhere because they picked wrong. Horse racing is both the darling of the PCs and also tied to gambling--two birds with one stone!)
12. Official election looser (Sadly, at would be one of two parties I have ever voted for in provincial elections)

I am sure the list is not complete, but the good people of C2E will certainly be able to add to it.
