Exclamation Alberta Anti-Terror unit

Alta. Anti-Terror unit planned
New RCMP team to combat foreign and homegrown extremists

Elise Stolte
The Edmonton Journal

Monday, January 19, 2009

The units, or Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams, are in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. An Alberta unit will be set up "as soon as possible," pending negotiations for an extra $3 million, Paulson said.
Officers would be dedicated to old-fashioned surveillance and detective work. They would also try to build relationships in various communities to ensure disaffected youth are not recruited.

This thread is very much okay!

BTW, trying to limit yourself is your decision obviously but know that your enthusiasm was missed and is appreciated by me at least.

^Thanks very much. Sorry this is getting OT, but that is so sweet. I am just trying to limit myself so we don't get into what we did before. I actually got a Word document with all these sorts of ideas actually. Even though it's unneccesary cause I like think of at least 1 new idea everyday, its good reference. Thanks Debra, you are most helpful.

Just so we don't bring this all out about me, if you wanna discuss further, PM me.

Back on topic .

There's about as much point to my post as DebraW, except mine was to make a point. THERE IS NO NEED TO THANK PEOPLE FOR POSTING.

Imagine if everyone did that on this forum.

There was no point.

To topic. Thank you for posting this edmontonenthusiast because I think this is a big (good) step for Alberta and acknowledges our provinces growth and potential for terrorism.

Were we leaving in a police state prior to 1993 when the RCMP had the Special Emergency Response Team? Sounds like the same thing.

The number one priority for the new Alberta anti-terror unit is to stop the Thank You Bombers.
